Dear Citizens:
- At this time, you may file an Assessment Review Inquiry located on this website if you do not agree with your assessment. Please note the deadline for doing so is July 08, 2024. This allows the homeowner enough time to file a formal appeal if they do not agree with the townships review. Please see the tab on our website for more information and the form.
- Assessed value is 1/3 of market value (.3333).
- Assessments are based on 3 years of adjusted valid sales prior to the assessment date. 2024 values are based on adjusted sales from 2023, 2022, and 2021 – not current market.
- RENEWAL of EXEMPTIONS – the forms will be mailed Mid-April 2024 from Will County. You may come into our office for assistance in filling out the forms. Please make sure you have all the documentation that is needed, such as total household income for the freeze or correct papers for any of the disability exemptions.
- If you are new applicant, you can come in any time. However, for the Low-Income Freeze exemption, the forms won’t be available till Mid- April to file for 2024. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office. There is an exemption tab that explains all the different exemptions as well.
- General Homestead and Senior Exemptions will have a higher value starting for 2023 tax bill paid in 2024.
- Tax bills will be mailed at the end of April from Will County Treasurer. If you need a copy of your tax bill for income taxes, please visit their website at willcounty.gov and click on treasurer link.
- You cannot appeal your TAX BILL. If you are upset regarding the amount of taxes being paid, you must contact your local taxing bodies (school district, library, park district, etc.). The taxing bodies budgets are what sets the tax rates. Assessments are just a simple proportionate way of distributing the tax burden equitably. We suggest not comparing taxes to others because 1- everyone doesn’t have the same house 2- rates vary by districts 3- everyone has different exemptions. Review your own property and we are happy to answer any questions.

2024 Notices and Assessment Process Information:
DuPage Township received a 1.1114 multiplier from Will County for 2024. It has been a fast-rising market, and most of the townships in Will County have received large multipliers.
THE 2024 ASSESSMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE ARE NOT FINAL VALUES. THEY ARE VALUES AS OF THE PUBLISH DATE BY THE COUNTY. THEY DO NOT INCLUDE ANY CHANGES MADE AT THE LEVELS CURRENTLY OPEN. THE FINAL VALUES WILL NOT BE POSTED UNTIL THE BOARD OF REVIEW HAS CLOSED THE BOOKS AT THE END OF THE YEAR. IF YOU HAVE QUESTION ON ANY SPECIFIC VALUE, PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE WITH THE PIN NUMBER AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP.
Notice values and multipliers are used for the 2024 tax bill, which is payable in 2025. Notices are not a bill!
